Default Hemi disapointment

Wasn't nearly what I expected. My slow *** 4x4 could have hung. It was a rcsb. it was quick, but I guess I was expecting more. It also rode like crap. I think I'll stick with Chevy, and just swap cams b4 1000 miles
If Chevy would un *** the 345 hp moster they have LQ9 in a rcsb, DODGE would be SOL performance wise. Stock or moded. Chevy has soooooo much more you can do to increase performance. If I get one anytime soon, I think I'll get the H.O.5.3 or maybe a V-6 and swap to a LQ(

I really like my Hemi Ram. It rides better, handles better, turns a tighter circle and was quicker stock than my 00 EC silverado with a 5.3L was. My Silverado was quicker in the end because I did more to it. My 4x2 QC Ram did a 15.24 with only a muffler and partial CAI, not to bad for a 5200 lb. truck. Don't know what it'll do now, I've changed and added a few things. I'm waiting for Superchips to release their tuner for the 04-05 Hemi Rams. Then back to the track when the weather cools down, 100* isn't good racing weather.

Well, there was a 150 eng hour rumor also, I never felt a damn thing. My truck has a little of 20K on it now, seems to have run the same from day one. I've also read that the computer adapts to your driving, you baby it and it won't perform as well as when you jump on it all the time. Don't know if it's true or not but I do know that if I'm all it on the time, my mpg sucks! I try and drive to get a little better mpg but do jump on it driving from time to time just in case that's true.

Yeah, I think they need some brakeing-in. Remember when me and my cousin test drove a bran new 04 silverado 5.3 rcsb w/ 3.73 gears. We were a bit dissapointed with the performance, but the truck only had about 30mi. on the odometer. The rpms took forever to get high in the powerband. My cousin's 02 silverado felt alot faster w/ 3.42s and 60K+mi. So probably the dodge's 5.7 engine needs some braking-in to get to the full potential like the ls1 style motors in our trucks.

lol Most new cars adapt to the drivers habits. If i remember right it takes 15-20 Miles of easy going driving for it to change to w/e it thinks your going to do next. As far as break in...**** I dunno. The first night I got my 4.8 I took her to 100 mph and put a good 150-200 miles on it in one night lol. Im pretty sure the motors are "pre" "broke in". But I am sure there the computer knows the driver very well. Dont kno if driving it easy will make it slower in the long run..rather than always drviing like a speed demon will make it faster or not. I think alot of it is just in our minds. See thats why I got an old truck lol. Theres hardly a computer...when the pedal is floored...its floored. Of course itll awlasy be floored..but thats not my point haha. But maybe the harder you drive it the faster it will be and vise versa...anyone wanan chime in?

Yea, I can't wait to get my '78 running. To hell with the computers, well except for how consistant, and reliable they are.

so your 345hp hemi went 15.24 at 5200lbs?

the SS beats that bone stock weighing 74lbs more and with AWD and the same exact 345hp. hehe
