Angry Help! Power steering out after donut?

okay today i was driving around and i saw a good parking lot to spin around a few times in, my truck was steering and driving fine before this, so i spin around and then the power steering just completely stop working? I checked the fluid, plenty of fluid, didn't smell burnt up, and the pump is not making any weird noises at all?

what do you guys think???

I did the same thing on my truck when it was new in 2001, but just while driving normally.. Replaced under warranty, but why would the shaft snap in the first place?

Yep, happened to me in my wrx. Mine was in a field though. You will need a pulley puller, but you can rent one at your local auto parts store, or buy one for $25-30. Other than that it shouldn't be too hard. Good luck with it.

A friend of mine did that in his '02 GT. It's weird that it breaks like that.
