Default Power steering problem while braking

Hey fellas truck is a 2001 silverado, 4.8 ext cab short bed 2wd. It has about 150k miles on it I put a new power steering pump on it literally the day after I bought the truck. I Just replaced a lot of parts on it when I bought it for piece of mind since it was a used truck.

Anyways the power steering works fine, but when I press the brakes and get ready to turn into a parking lot or even a parking space, the steering gets super tight and I struggle to turn the wheel It only does it about half the time. What could the problem be?

is it one direction more than the other? My knee jerk thought is that you have a caliper not working or one working too much.

When braking in a straight line, does it pull?

No its not the calipers. It happens when I turn the wheel both directions. When I brake while driving straight, it stays straight

You don't have hydroboost do you? How old is the pump and where did you get it from, new or reman? Have you checked the rack for play? And lastly there is an updated valve that goes in the ps pump to correct that problem, actually a tsb if i remember correctly dont have part number in front of me but have the valve in my toolbox(waiting to make its way into my pump) to fix same problem on my truck, granted mine is 4wd and lifted.

Got any more info on that valve? I have a pump on the bench and I bet it would be easier to do now...
