Default HELP!!!! Can not get the engine to seperate from the trans... (5.3)

Am ready to pull this slug out and can not get the friggin trans to seperate from the engine. I check no less than 6 times to make sure I did not miss a bolt, TC is inbolted and loose. I am out of ideas and strength to keep prying on this stupid thing. 5.3/4L60E trans in a 04 Avalanche.

Any suggestions? Did I miss something simple?

I had the same issue with my 04. Just have to beat the hell out of it until it separates.

Even with a prybar I had to jerk mine pretty hard back and forth and it popped off

Between oil pan and transmission are too small holes, use small screwdriver to pry open enough room to get your prybar in there.

The stud holding the dipstick on is easy to miss. Its not uncommon for people to remove the nut holding the tube down and not remove the stud behind it.

There are no studs holding the tranny to the engine. There are a couple bolts that are threaded on each end holding the tranny to the engine. Remove those, and it should come apart easily.

Fairly easily.

It was rust on the dowels, Sprayed some PB Blaster on it, Let it soak for 1/2 hour and was able to pry them apart. What a PITA.
