Default heater is a little weak, why?

Ok its cold today and really the first time this season I needed the heater, turned it on... truck warmed up... blowing strong... but not hot at all it was luke warm at best. Could the heater core be pluged up? What do you guys think?

Check the thermostat first. Make sure it's heating up to the proper temp. second, you may have a blend door or a hot air door staying open or partially open. This is usually due to a faulty actuator, or could simply just need a re-park done.

Saw this on a friends car recently, his water was so low in his radiator that it couldn't flow through the heater core. Hear any gurgling from the dash?

The engine is up to temp, coolant is full (but old), so Im ether pluged up in the heater core or need the door thingy fixed. When it warms up i will flush the system and see if that helps. Thanks guys.

Could be that there's air in the line, and of course it's probably all in the heater core.

A flush and fill is probably in order. BTW, where's Liberty, MO??

Its on the north side of K.C. I have bought a new thermostat and temp sensor (truck is old these parts probly need replacing anyway) the stuff to flush the system, and new coolent, I will have to wait for a warmer day though. but we will see how it goes.

mine did this last year... sometime it would be warm.... i checked the hoses when up to temp plus driving around and the upper hose was warm but the bottom was cold... im not sure what it was but when i did my motor swap i put a new water pump on and it works great now.. maybe that was my issue (water pump)... just somethings else to look at....

ok I installed new temp sensor(that fixed the gauge) new thermostat and flushed the system and new coolant is now in. The heater works great for about 30 sec. when the truck is warm then slowly drops in temp until its just a vent. I squezed the upper rad hose a few times and heater will work great for a little bit, So do I just have air in my heater core and if so how do I get it out.
