Was cruzing around tonight when a truck suddendly hits me. It hit my rear bumper. The bumper got bent and broke my right side quarter panel. The guy said he would pay for the damage. He already has the bumper. He said he knows a guy that does good repair work, but I dont want any bondo on my truck, since the quarter panel is fiberglass and its flexible, the bondo would break easily. What should I do? Should I get a new quarter panel? How much $ do they cost and where can I get it? How much do you guys think it would cost to paint the whole quarter pewter?

 

just let his insurance take care of it.....
You dont want some joe schmo promising to fix your truck after they hit it, and turn up with a shitty job fixing it, IF they even fix it.

 

I really hope the other guy had insurance and were able to get his info. Otherwise, I doubt you will get your truck fixed.

sides are 468.00 and pay 2.5 to put on and pay 3.2 to refinish
plus clear coat.
Cracks can be fixed...
The side bolts on and off - easy to replace

Strongly rec running it thru his insurance.
Make sure you have a police report
If he bauks - call your insurance - - report it
but try to go thru his carrier first...
Get the plate number ?
Get his DL number ?
Get his VIN number ?

 

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sorry for taking so long to reply but my stupid computer wont work, so Im writing from school. Well my truck is at MAACO right now, I will go pick it up tommorow around noon. Hope it looks good. The guy had to go to work up north the next day so he couldn't pay me. I told him I needed the money to fix my truck before he left...his dad ended up paying for the repairs and a new bumper. The truck that hit me was an Escalade. Weird the escalade's only damage was a small crack to the front bumper cover. while my trucks bumper and quarter panel got all F***ed up.

Off the subjet but funny. Reading the topic "Got rearended tonight..." reminds me of a classic story from work. There is this gay guy at work that drives a blazer.
