Default Got a new toy for the HD

And i have to say the build quality on this is amazing. ( these are hand crafted in the usa still unlike the lower line power acoustic designed ones ), i mean its gorgoues under the cover ( ill get a picture up ) and to boot it has 66000uF of onboard capacitance, pretty sweet for a car amp.
mesuares 10x2.5x19.75 and weighs 20 lbs
running it on 4 RE8s gonna be wired 4 ohm per channel for 200 per speaker with PLENTY of headroom.

I could have gone alot cheaper but the problem is i take my sound very seriosly (sp?) besides i went cheap before ( had a power acoutic 2400db ) but I just dont like the sound of class D amps.

and no offense but youll never find a sony product in my stereo ( well maybe my hometheater as the new DA-7000ES is an awsome receiver coming out with HDMI switching and Ilink for about $2000 but the ES line is completly different than there normal stuff )

not knocking ur amp just I cant stand sony stereo stuff and the like.

If you paid $179 for that amp then it woul dnever put out 1200watts for more than a millisecond before dropping back down to about ohh maybe 200watts. LOL You migth want to a do a search for RMS power vs PEAK power and the different power outputs at different voltage ratings.....

A Sony Explode "1000watt" amp actually puts out about 300watts RMS at 12.5v.... Kenwood Excellon "1600watt" amp puts out about 600watts RMS at 12.5v... See the difference between peak power and RMS?

To put it simply, If you didn't pay at least $.75-$1.25 per watt then you are either not getting the power the amp is rated at and/or it is of shitty quality.

I've done high end car audio for over 10years now and listened to LOTS of setups.

i definatly agree with f8l. my friend baught some **** *** amp for like 100 bucks and said it was puttin out 800 watts. i told him that a jl 500/1 would destroy his amp and he argued it with me and said u were paying for the name. not quality. i almost had to kill the kid
