Default Goin for a 14 tonight in the 4.8L..Think it can?

I'm gonna take the speaker box out, tailgate and put the slicks on. LOL

Last few times out I have been running consitant 15.3s@91mph 2.3-2.4 60's. I can't keep wheelspin down even with the QA1s and Caltracs so I bought the slicks for later use and tonight I'll bolt em on and leave em aired WAAY up.

The truck:
02' RCSB 2wd 4.8L 109,000miles
stock 3.73s gears and open diff.
Raceweight with speaker box, tailgate etc is 4400lbs

So my mods are:
Semi-custom tune (no dyno work, or driving, just a quick flash)
K&N air filter with stock tubing
Magnaflow muffler on stock piping
QA1s
Caltracs
Slicks

Think I can do it? Any guesses as to what it will run if it doesn't hit a 14? The forecast says about 90deg with fairly high humidity.

DJ, yeah it was about 97deg or so last week.. Too hot for good times!

KBOBOZ71, It may be very close. I just removed my speaker box and that thing is about 120lbs. Then the tailgate is 45lbs and my slicks are 32lbs lighter than my 20s. If the lil 4.8L can muster enough TQ to get me a decent launch I may just have it. This my last effort to get it into the 14s before the new motor, turbo crap goes on it.

just practice on that 60' and you'll be on your way to 14's.

Well I Sure Hope You Get There Cuz I Know How Irritating It Can Be To Be So Close And Not Get There. Good Luck!
