Default GMC HVAC Program Update

HVAC system in my 2004 GMC Sierra (digital duel climate control) was not working properly, mainly having problems with recirc button for fresh air intake, door would not close. Ordered new actuator and took to shop to have replaced.

Shop put on computer and found a code for HVAC system, while they were checking on the code they found out there was a program update for HVAC system. Downloaded update into truck and works fine now.

The HVAC system on these trucks have there own program, and GM has updated the program for the system. If you are having any problems with yours might want to check for program updates.

Mine just won't blow as hard or as cold as my cousin's 06. I know the efans have something to do with it, but there is major differences.

Wow, cool deal Matt...funny how it worked for so long, then just quit, and a reflash of the BCM fixed the issue. Glad that you got it worked out

Not gm dealer, just local mech. shop. When they hooked up to computer it showed a code for the HVAC, then upon checking on they found the update. It also fixed the blend doors, driver a/c was not blowing as cold as passenger.

I believe it is GM specific, is it not?
