Default GM Mud Flaps

I did a search and didn't come up with anything so I need to know what everyone thinks of the GM mud flaps. After putting them on my new truck I was looking at a Husky floor liner as my next purchase when I discovered Husky also makes mud flaps. In their instructions i read that they use a 3M protective film to put on the fenders so the flaps don't scuff the paint. Figures that I see this now! Does anybody have any experience with the GM flaps. Should I go out and by some film to put on the fenders or do I need to worry about the flaps wearing the paint off?
Thanks
Jim

I had them on my '01 for a year and never saw any problems with rubbing. They match up well and have more form than the flat bottom end on the Husky. Just my 2 cents.....

Thanks for the reply. I didn't think I would have a problem with my flaps but I thought I should ask. My truck is the 06 version of yours. Nice truck! I noticed you have a front licence plate bracket. Did it come with that? Mine is bolted to the bumper with 2 screws and without a bracket. I would rather have a bracket on mine too. Do you have a part number?
Thanks
Jim

The plate bracket fits the SS and I took my dremmel to it. Most people have no idea that it's not made for my model. I think it's worth the $.... Thanks!

My '01 was Pewter......

You might get some clear protective sheeting and install it under the splash gaurd yourself.

Thanks Guys
I'll put the film on. The back ones are easy but I gotta remove the step tubes to get the front ones off. What a pain!
