What is the difference in electrical guages and mechanical ones? I am looking to add a trans temp and fuel pressure gauge to my pod which already has a Magnuson boost gauge. The boost gauge works great but I didn't install it so I'm not sure what type it is. How do I find out which one I need?

Might have answered my own question with a little research, but still not sure if I'm right. Mechanical requires (say for the fuel pressure) the fuel line to actually be run into and out of the gauge to get a reading, meaning I can't install it in the pillar in the truck cab. An electrical uses sending units to measure the pressure and sends the signal to the guage meaning I can mount in the cab. Am I Close?

yes..
your on the right path.
electrical gauges use a sending wire. as you stated..
and the mechanical guages require some sort of pressure..(whether it be air or liquid) to read. as for your truck you should be good with the electric guage.
you may need to do some research as to what wire to splice into.

The electrical fuel pressure gauge is 190 bucks. I was trying to get away with not spending that much. The tranny temp gauge is only 50 bucks (electrical) Oh well, guess I have to pay for my toys

You would be much better off to avoid running fluid lines into the cab...especially fuel. Definitely stay away from mechanical if you are putting the gauges inside.
I am running electric fuel pressure and tranny temp gauges, and a mechanical boost gauge. My autometer fuel pressure sender threaded right into the pressure port thingy on the driver's side fuel rail, very easy install.

sorry to resurrecct an old thread but I will be doing this soon. Just ordered my Radix and want to get a C2 fuel pressure guage.
Thunder550, looks like you just hooked into the radix fuel rail? Is there a fitting for this on the fuel rail or did you have to do some modifing drilling/tapping/ets. Basically I am trying to figure out if I need to buy any extra adapters or anything before I install.
Thanks
