i bought a hp1007 k@n oil filter for my 07 classic 5.3.and it didnt fit!!! whats the right part # 1017????
whats the engine code for te new 5.3's???

 

I think the HP2006 is what fits.

well the part#'s between 06 and 07 was different.the opening on my filter is 22mm.is it possble i have the "newer" 5.3 found in the 07 nnbs trucks????

 

i guess its possible you have the newer motor....was the filter you took off smaller then the new one or was the opening just different? i was told the NNBS ones are overall smaller than the NBS but i havent actually seen one to compare.

 

well i bought the truck used(9000 miles) so didnt see the oe filter.but the filter that goes on it now is really small.all i know is that a filter for an 06 will NOT fit on my motor.

 

yeah you may have the newer motor because the guy that told me that said it was really small like a lawn mower filter.

 

ya its little.the new 5.3's have more power rite??310hp 340tq

 

dealer says i have the old 5.3 but it takes the newer filter.that doesnt make any since to me
