This is more for the pros out there....What seems to be the most popular tool company among auto techs? Snap On, Mac or Matco?

 

Quality and feel, I like Snap on the most. But latley I've only bought from Mac because of the price of Snap on.

 

Snap On FTW love there tools and the customer service cant be beat!

 

All three you listed are good, I have about 80% Snap-on, and the rest is Mac, Matco, and other. Snap-on sells really nice kits with carrying cases and all, Just FYI in case your looking.

Snap on diagnostic equiptment- i have a solus scanner and vantage pro lab scope
Fluke multimeters (fluke 87V) is my meter of choice

then for all the other cheap stuff like trim tools, and stuff that doesnt need to be as sturdy i use cornwell

i dont use any MAC because their unreliable customer service, we have had 4 mac dealers in 8 years and they only show up like bi-monthly or never

everything snap on is great- but when you shop around alot of the stuff is made just as good by matco- and its like 3/4 of the price

 

mastercraft>craftsman, ratchets are decent, sockets are very well made, there maximum series wrenches are like pure sex, anything breaks no questions asked on the spot free replacement! But if I could afford it at only 19 years of age Id have to go with snap-on

 

If I had the money, and I will buy all snap on for my garage when I get a house, snap-on.

But I found that I can make the same amount of money with cheaper tools....like grey pneumatic. All my impact sockets are GP.
Gearwrenches are the ****....and I found that other companys like v8 tools and pittsburg, make ok special wrenches.

all IR air guns for me. from 1" to my 1/4".

I have had matco boxes, they are nice. I have a macsamizer mb1900 now and love it.

I have the same problem with matco as some do with mac, so its prolly just the area. Our snap on guy sucks right now and matco has never showed up.

Cornwell is not bad, and cheaper than the other 3 main tool guys.
