Default cluster not working properly?

One of my buddy have a 2004 SIlverado cab 5.3, Its 142k mileage. Somehow he say the cluster like rpm, speedo, fuel gauge, temp gauge, the miles are all off and not work. But the light work and run fine. Do you have idea how I able get them back work properly?

This exact same thing happened to my Dad's 04 Silverado 2 weeks ago. He talked to a friend that works at a dealership and found out its a defect that in most cases is still under warranty. They fixed it for no cost.

^^^ There are known problems with the clusters, not sure what years, but I believe it's 03, 04, maybe 05. GM extended the warranty on those trucks, not sure of the mileage limitation, but I believe that it's less than 142k...still worth looking into though, even if it's just to get an answer as to what may be going on.

It is not a recall, it is a special coverage adjustment that extends the warranty on the instrument panel cluster to 7 years and 70,000 miles. So at 142k it won't be covered.

I got a letter from GM a few years ago stating 7/70K. Mine has about 58K and is an '04. My speedo went out Friday...I was doin' 117 at 1,500 rpm. The oil press will sometimes show zero psi. I need to get mine to the dealer soon.
