Default to cage or not to cage [your opinions]

who here would cage their truck? yes caging a truck to be legal at the track.. its been done before and i swore i wouldnt do it but been thinking alot and seen Parish's setup and it looks clean. i want to be legal at the track when i go and not have to worry about not having a cage. I know i didnt get there yet this year and probably wont since my year ended. but figured with the new powerplant and N20 setup it should easily put me where im shooting for

now if you caged the ride what interior would you rock? i currently have a 2 tone leather with leather door panels or would you go with 2 race seats?

just would like a vibe from some

The front bar will have to be HIGH to get between you elbow and shoulder with stock seats. Go to some race seats IMO, slowprocess has some that he said were comfortable. I wouldnt cage unless they made me. Hurts resale if you ever had to. Also get the front bar made to swing away with pins so when not at the track you can remove it.

He has a thread with a BUNCH of pics of his cage. Blacksheep, Slowprocess and Parish all have cages.

yes but i wouldn't fear for my life at 11.5.... i wouldn't really fear for it faster than that... but i would feel a lot safer with a bar...... either way if you hit a wall or start tumbling down the track at that speed.... its going to ******* hurt.... but not kill you if you had a bar.... if it ever got to a point that i needed a bar i would do a full race seat and harness..... the roll bar is only going to do so much... just my opinion

Here's my opinion: Your truck's too nice to put a cage in. If it were a stripper, and almost strictly a race truck, then I'd say no problem. You got a nice interior, good sounds, the whole deal, I think a cage might ruin it.
