in my opinion, id go for the cage..you wouldnt have too worry about not being able to run at the track..because we all know with a 150 shot you will be in the low 11's..unless you just dont plan on runnin at the track any more..
i also like seeing cars and trucks with cages..when people come up and see that..then they definantly know its fast..

by the way if you do wreck at that speed, your going to wish you had that cage..ive been in several wrecks at 90-100 mph in my race car and i think god i had 5 point harness and a full cage..ive been banged up, bruised up, and knocked out in a race car..

when it can come to life or death safety at high speed is nothin to joke about..ive seen alot of people hurt and some people permantly injured for life and one guy burnt to death because of improper safety..ive been kickin the idea around for a cage for my truck and been tryin to find pics of a cage in an extended cab truck

I'm in the same boat man. I've been contemplating buying a high mileage, worn out 99-00, lightening the **** out of it, slapping my running gear and a cage in it, and call it a day. I think if done right, a cage would look badass, and it's definitely needed safety equipment, it just sucks to have to cut the back of the cab and/or put a lexan rear window in to do it.

I'll be caging (or at least a 6-point rollbar) very soon. It all comes down to whether you're happy with just making half-passes, or an occasional blast. I've decided that If I didn't cage the truck I'd lose interest in it and end up selling it. I really enjoy making small changes to see the results - and you can't do that when the track sends you home early. I'll end up having to install race seats in order to get enough space between me and the roof/cage.

I'd say: CAGE IT!!!

I vote for a cage. I too have wrecked at 100+mph and wished to god I had a cage!

I'm putting a 6pt in mine in a few months. I might not a 6pt but it gives me piece of mind knowing just in case it's there.

(btw has anyone seen a 6pt done and keep the glass back window?)

thats the only thing i dont like about a cage is having to run it out the back...if you could square off the cage in the cab and it be legal then thats what i would do....

My vote - No cage.

Although Parish8, Blacksheep, slowprocesss' trucks and others are very cool it just isn't my cup of tea to have a truck that strays too far away from it's sole purpose of being a truck and is used and driven. I feel that a cage that impeedes storage behind the seat, entering and exiting the truck, and a plexiglass rear window makes something no longer a true usable daily driver. I'm a firm believer that if you have something fast enough for a cage and intend on driving it that fast then why didn't you start with something lighter weight. You might think i'm the pot calling the kettle black with my set-up but I have full intentions on mine being my work commuter and dirt hauler as it was before. But everyone has their own opinion of what a daily driver is so take it as that.
A cage is a must in a race car/truck. This is coming from someone who flipped 6 times end over end at the track and if it wasn't for a cage, 5 point harness and helment I would not be here today.
If you are going to go to the track very often and you plan on breaking into the 10's on a regular basis, then cage it and park it for weekend cruising/racing. If you will not frequent the track but a few times a year then just dodge the rules the best you can. That's my .02
