Default broken door handle (pic)

i need suggestions. looks like a bolt rusted and snapped off. you can see it in the top right part of handle. is this easy to replace? if possible i would want colored matched handles if i need to replace this anyway. years ago i wanted to put colored ones on but could not find my color. anyone know where i can get dark carmine red metallic door handles? or are there paintable ones you can buy and have someone local paint them for me?

They aren't hard to replace. Just take your door panel off to get to the linkage. And you can get a paint & body shop to color match the new ones before you install them.

not a hard fix. on gm's thats how they break in to our trucks. it will come out good if you take it to a body shop to touch up the outside.

thanks for the info. they don't look to hard to replace. i have had the door panels off many times so it should be a piece of cake hopefully.

where is a good place to get paintable door handles? do the paintable ones come in black that are already nice and smooth? i don't want to purchase ones that i have to sand down so the black dimples are all gone for painting.

i was wondering if someone tried getting into my truck since the handle was busted open like that. although i think it is probably a 9 year old truck that has been through tons of winters showing its age
