Got the 20's up for sale, and a set of stockers on the way. Looking for a tire with some decent tread and made for highway and towing. Rockcrawling season is coming up for me and I need a good tire to go with for pulling the trailer and driving to the trialheads. Looking for something between 32" and 33" overall height. Thanks for your input.

I like the Nitto Terra grapplers myself for what you are describing. You'll get an easy 60K miles out of them (more if your not towing too much weight) and they are great in the rain and sand. I'm not big on them in the mud but I just came from BF Goodrich Mud Terrains so i'm expecting a lot. The Michelin LTX M/S is a great tire if you have the $$$$ but you can buy almost two sets of the Nittos for 1 set of michelins. (note I'm running 295/70R17s).

 

I saw the nittos, they were priced right, and looked like a decent tire. Are you running those now, or have you in the past?

 

I've seen lots of trucks lately with goodyear silent armor wranglers. Not exactly sure why, haven't spoken to any of the owners, but they look good and are a little cheaper than BFG's, so that may be the main reason.

I had nitto TG's a few years ago when they first came out and they turned out to be a pretty good tire. Got about 45K out of them and never rotated them once. Don't remember ever getting a flat with them. Bought some bridgestone dueler revos to replace them and those tires were junk compared to the nittos, and about $50 more per tire.

Right now I'm wanting to try a set of Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's. They look like a pretty tough tire and I've had a couple sets of Mickeys in the past that were good tires.

 

I know that the MT Baja ATZ are awsome, my buddy has them on his diesel and has gone to Florida from Delaware 2 times towing a mustang and 100 miles a day for work and they still look new. awsome all around tire.

 

I'm running the nittos now. I'll sang a pic for you. I had the Wrangler AT/S on my F-150 from the factory, they were load range "C" so they were a LT tire, they lasted me 80K miles till i swapped out for some 35"s (still had 4/32" left in the front and 6/32" left in the back, I never once rotated them). The Goodyear Silent Armor looks nice and if they wear as well as the AT/S i'd be happy with them. The reason I did not go w/ the Goodyears that time around was they were 35 dollars a tire more.

All good input, keep it coming. I wouldnt mind seeing around 50k out of the set. Now if someone would pic up my CHEAP 20's I might be able to decide on a set and get them.
