I run 29" tires on the street. You can feel the difference with the 26" ones at the track. It should put the gear ratio around 3.90. It will really pull when I put some lower gears in it. It has always ran good for a 4.8, I quess thats why I dont understand when people say the 4.8 is gutless. I need to go dyno it, I have always been curious myself. There arent any around here, I am going to have to take a trip to find one. I used one of those online horsepower calculators using the et and speed, and it said 356hp at the flywheel if I remember right. I dont put much stock in that though, too many variables.

I know that I had a dyno next to me and didnt know it. Sometimes, Dodge dealers have dyno's. Maybe other dealers too.

Since I am a 4.8 owner this is my .02.... The tune for the 4.8 in stock form is absolutely pathetic!!!! The timing table is complete crap... Lots of timing needs to be added in the lower RPM / high load areas... Also the 4.8 simply does not have the off idle TQ that the larger cube motors have... So IMO a GOOD tune and a TQ converter really helps....
