Red face 16.0 1/4 mile?

went to the san antonio raceway on saturday and ran my rcsb 4.8 and it did a 16.0 and i was just wondering if thats good considering intake, tune, exhaust and a passenger. i would like to get a z06 cam installed, but i dont know if theres a better one out there that adds as much hp? (i was told the 02+ z06 cam adds around 40 horses.)

it was my buddies little brother and i wasnt really concerned about it cause i ran before and could only manage a 16.2 by myself so i said what the hell ill give him a ride and thats when i ended up running a 16.0.

well congrats on your new best then. You would have been in the 15's without a passenger
The Z06 cam adds a bit of hp to blown applications but in an NA car/truck maybe a bit
less. If you are serious about a cam then you should read every sticky in the GM engine section. There is a long cam thread that is a must read.

For comparison, my 04 ecsb with the 4.8, 3.42s with open diffs, intake, exhaust , tune, longtube headers ,with 20s on the front/16s on rear and full street weight including spare, tailgate, and full stereo ran a 15.1@90 earlier this year. Hoping to strip some weight off of it and go back, should dip into the 14s. Most 4.8s dont run this low with these mods, I dont know. YOu have a reg cab so I would have expected at least a low 15.

Never run one but I saw a bone stock one run a 14.1 with only a few hundred miles on it. A couple months later the same guy added and intake and exhaust and ran a 13.7.They are quick, I just cant get past the ugly.

same here there just too bulky. looks like GM is gonna have to step up considering ford and dodge already have, id like to see what the new dodge ram would do with the new 390 hp hemi.
Hopefully shut the toyota girls up.
