'00 5.3L Crankshaft Serp Belt Slight Wobble?
Last evening my serp. belt tensioner/pulley let go and chewed up the belt. Into a friends garage and an hour later I'm back on the road. No big deal.
The odometer shows a tick less than 148k miles but we've been able to research the truck origin and see where the long block was replaced under warranty early in life and has 80-85k miles on it.
While observing the new belt and tensioner operation, we noticed what I'll define as a slight wobble to the crank pulley. Not like it's about to come out the bottom, but a noticeable runout or wobble, (enough to get your attention).
My Citizen watch makes more noise than this motor when running even after a cold start up and less now that the pulley and belt has been changed. I've owned the truck for the last 8 years, have never had a problem. Getting ready to overhaul the topend with the Texas Speed 212/218 cam kit so the crank balancer and pulley will be coming off anyhow.
Am I overly concerned? I've never noticed this before but I've never looked for it until last night.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. My thinking as well. I realize the crank harm. balancer/pulley bolt is a torque to yield bolt, but snugging it for a relatively short period of time is better than loose if that's the issue.
Getting ready to disassemble the whole top end for heads, cam, pump, t-gear/chain set etc.
