Default yank tt3200? in 4x4 5.3 which cam?

I am thinking about getting a yank truck thruster 3200 converter for my 99 gmc 5.3 x cab 4x4 and a cam to compliment it.
not worried about towing.

what would a good cam be to compliment the yank tt 3200?
I was thinking about a thunder 212/218 558/563 112lsa I will get tuning from thunder if needed.

That 9.5" converter is gonna be one loose *** bitch, it is going to feel very weird at slow speeds...I drove around on a 9.5" for about two years in a daily driver weighing 4400lbs. I'd stick a TransGo in while it is all apart.

Why not go with a TT Yank 3200?

That cam would work nicely with that stall, you'll need the springs, keepers, rods, etc to do this.

I dont understand your complaint? You realize that all converters will not stall exactly the same on every motor right? The more or less HP you make you are going to change the stall speed on the converter. Take a 4400stall and add 100hp worth of nitrous and you'll likely stall around 5k rpm!

Also keep in mind that the Vig converters are rated differently. Most 3200s I have every seen stall around 3400-3600rpm NOT 3200 like the model suggests. Most people consider the Vig3200 the equivelent of the ST3500 Yank.

pony,

that IS NOT the case when you have a dyno sheet, gears, cam and weight to stall a converter.

i know that about a vig, been there done that. not new to f bodies, but new to trucks.

Yeah for like 1 year after your purchase...but then you gotta pull your trans AGAIN, ship the converter off AGAIN, reinstall the trans AGAIN. Too much work for me.

It is a good deal if you have free use of a life but most of us do not. I'd just get a stall between what you need now and your future mods.

PI's are great converters, duh as I ran one for a while. Mine was this light purple color!
