Question x-pipe ?

hello guys just wondering about the pro's and con's of an x pipe? my muffler shop say's the only real benfit over straght duels would be a little quieter. I am about to install duels on a 2006 1500hd 6.0l. if there is a real differance I will not hesitate to have one installed. thanks for any info

I think you should find another shop?
I have always understood the X-crossover to be a proven advantage over straight or even H pipe.

X pipe is the ****. Just dont get a real "X" Get the one that looks like )( that.
I Everyone sells them, the two just barely touch. You want to equalize pressure, not disturb flow.

it does quiet the exhaust note 2-3 decibels but it does a much better job scavenging. it makes the exhaust have a more clean sound. it neds to be installed as close to the headers as possible for it to take full adavantage.

ive always used magnaflow but their all basically the same. just make sure its Stainless steel. go to ebay and you can find tons of them. for the ss you can go with a 2.5, 2.75 or even a 3 inch. I always stuck with the 2.5 but I honestly think it would be easier if I would have gone a litle bigger.

Would it take out the cackle of the true duals? I like the sound of mine but it has that farm truck cackle to it.

From what I have heard an X pipe also creates a little more resonance in the cab compared to an H, but i have never experience.. just heard.

Wouldn't you want to stick with the same size piping?
