Default Dynomax Bullets ????

Hey got a quick one for ya. I know there are several of you guys out here running the bullets. I've already got duals on my truck but no x-pipe. I've got a magnaflow x-pipe already but need to install it so I will need to cut a section out of the exhaust to slip this in when I install my bullets. Is is better to put the x-pipe closer to the cats or the mufflers? My guess would be put the x-pipe as close to the cats as possible, but just wanting to confirm that. I am currently running a magnaflow dual in dual out with the x-pipe inside the muffler.

I will also be running this with stock manifolds and cats. I had a flowmaster 40 prior to the magnaflow. How much louder are the bullets going to be than the flowmaster? Right now the magnaflow has great performance but the sound is just way to silent.

put the x pipe right after the crossmember, that's about the only place it will go. the bullets will be alot louder then the flowmaster. I jsut wouldn't take off the cats while having the bullets on, I am sure their would be some serious popping and it would get annoying as hell.

try this old trick that hot-rodders have done for years....take a can of spray paint, color dont matter gloss is better...paint a big stripe along the pipes from the cats back most of the way....do it when the pipes are cold...start the truck and watch the paint as it burns in....the place to put the crossover or x-pipe will show up in the paint...the gloss will dull to the correct place for you to cut...behind it will be distinctly different and gloss like it was painted

Oh,no. I am not planning on removing the cats anyways. I still have to pass emissions here in Houston. I hope I don't have any troubles with the bullets. They are supposed to be for off-road use only. I have a few friends though that do inspections so that shouldn't be a problem anyways.

How much louder than the flowmasters? I liked the sound of the flows, wouldn't mind a little bit louder, actually I can tolerate sound pretty well. The flows just sucked for performance and were a little too raspy, poppy.

I've never heard of the painting trick. I might have to try that.

That sounds like a good technique.

I have had the 1 chambers on two of my trucks and loved them. My wifes truck now is running them but we took the cats off an now it's way to loud for her. It also pops real bad when it's cold and then sounds damn strong when it warms up, but it's slow and it hurt my backpressure after taking off the cats. try the bullets their cheap, jsut hang on to what ever you ahve now.

Oh yeah, CST. I've already got the bullets at the house, and I got an x-pipe from another member here for 35 bucks and that was shipped. So, its not like I'm out a whole lot of green. I am keeping my current setup until I decide if I like the bullets.

Then after that, if I do like the bullets, the magnaflow is all yours Leo.

I have the 2 1/4" bullets with no cats and headers and it doesnt pop or anything. I love the way it sounds when I get on it. At WOT it screams. The true duals helped me out alot on top end

I'm running flowmaster 40's right now. They're alot quieter then bullets. Bullets sound better but they are loud on the freeway. My exhaust is dumped so that makes a difference.
Here's some pics of my setup with the bullets
