I disconnected the vacum line oging to the diaphram that operates the bypass, and my boost is back... is there something wrong with my bypass? I would leave it like that, but then it won't bypass air like it should when cruising right? (i am not talking about the whipple electric emergency bypass)

Well i plugged it back into the diaphram, it seems to be working fine now, my boost is back. whipple tech said it was most likely the diaphram sticking for some reason. so if it does it again i know what it is and i will take it off and inspect it.
Bigguy what kinda memories are we talkin here? Any info would be great im tryin to suck up all the info i can.

what does this mean? are you seeing more boost? boost sooner? in any case, glad to hear it's more along the lines of what you expected

No i actually went to go log some runs for bryan this morning, and was only seeing 1-2lbs of boost! i couldn't believe it since i had 5-6 yesterday! I guess the diaphram got stuck alittle bit or somthing and was holding the bypass open, anyway it's working normally now, phew! Hopefullly i'll get my updated tune tomarrow and hit the track!

i blew my first motor with the whipple when i ran 14 psi with no extra fuel pump. haha did the same to the second as well. lol it sure ran good tho.. spinnin all 4 tires in 4wd was the bomb. i had a pcmforless tune the secondtime but it was pinging like crazy so i detuned it. ended up running out of fuel and overheated #7 piston and shattered it like a piece of glass.. i got pics if anyone is interested. i also successfully mounted a huge dodge diesel intercooler in the grill. i also had fabed up the routing pipes needed to go from the charger to the intercooler and back to the intake. but i puked my engine before 100 complete. im back to stock now. with the 3.5 inch pully, in neutral, i could hit 10 psi! dont be like me and be so stuped your blinded to the cost of some mistakes.

I would say 10-12 lbs of boost is about the limit for a Whipple w/o intercooling it. I have the old 2 belt set up with the mech. bypass (no active bypass with the solenoid) and had soooooooo many problems with detonation and this was only running at 6 lbs of boost. I finally have the truck running the way it was supposed to be from day 1. Bryan from PCM dialed it in on the dyno and did an awesome job.

I have dumped the Whipple electronics (junk) and went with larger injectors and custom PCM. Still running the stock fuel pump and am seeing 9 lbs of boost w/o detonation.

Also, I had this Whipple before the intercooled Radix was out otherwise I would have gone with their setup for sure.
