whats too much size for a single exhaust ?

the way I figure is one 3.5 will have about the same flow area as
2.5" true duals, actually less
I plan on going with a 3.5" Ypipe like the 1 flowmaster makes
into single 3.5 pipe all the way back to say a 3.5 center in center out
aerochamber dumped before axle.

Would this hurt performance and how much rasp would there be?

and how much better would 2.5" true duals be and why?

 

You can't go too big with these trucks. The more the better. They like to breathe.

 

with a 5.3, i wouldn't go over a 3" unless it were some bad *** 5.3.

 

with a stock or jsut mild 5.3 I wouldn't go biger then 3 inch. Now if you have a cam, headers, tune, or a supercharger or something then it would help you going a little bigger.

 

Are you going to be running cats? I had the dual 3'' x-pipe setup and then went to a single 4'' setup. At idle and wot the 4'' sounded badass, but at 2500-3500 the rasp was really bad. Im now running the dual setup again. As far as performance i didnt feel a loss or gain between the two.

I alread have headers and tune and waiting on a good deal on a 216/220

I ordered this morning so hopefully it will turn out allright if not Ill just do it over
with a single 3 inch setup
