What engine should i run?!

I would do the 6l swap, you can usually find an lq4 for much cheaper than an lq9, but they make less power, do a cam swap, some head work, and finish it off with all the bolt ons, and you will be making considerably more power than you have now with the 4.8.
Or you could find a cheap 4.8/5.3 and slap a turbo on it, that'll probably not work in your budget though.
You can check EBay for the motor, otherwise look for junkyards near you and start making some phone calls. You can also check the classified section here, stuff goes up for sale all the time.

the 05 2500 will be an LQ4 wit the 4L80e. go with that combo and heads/cam/misc bolt ons...sure you have heard this before. you will be well on your way and wont be breaking things when you tow.
i did mine step by step...well the 6.0 was free...but once built and radix added....the built 65e exploded (converter/hardened input shaft/hardened output shaft/5 pinion planets/case all toasted on one glorious 2-1 downshift that found traction) then 80e time. no problems since.

if it is out of an HD...LQ4. if you can get a deal with both angine and tranny, go for it and spend some money on the heads and a cam. long tubes was well. i have an MP112 (radix) blower on my lq4...stock heads, port polish with big valves and good springs/pushrods and a healthy cam.... at just 7psi it makes 489hp and 515tq to the wheels, which is over 600hp at the crank if you figure 20% parasitic loss. if you have further plans for the 6.0 (blower/turbo), go with the LQ4 and definitely the 80e. there are tons and tons of posts on here with answers to all your questions. basically get the best deal you can and go from there.

I guess i will have to either call down there to make sure or i will have to go look for myself. So iv been told that the lq4 wont get me as much hp/torq as the lq9 huge difference? Since i am already going to have the engine out of the truck should i the heads ported and polished?
LQ9 345/380
I put 369/400 to the wheels, with an all stock LQ4, radix 112 with a 3" pulley don't know the boost lbs, and a muffler, this was through 33" tires.
