I think the 60e is a good tranny, it just lacks some of the stuff to make it stand the power and weight we're wanting to throw at it. It's a lightweight tranny being used in a mid weight arena. Have you thought to get a set of planetaries cryo treated?

Yea .. I know what ya mean. My 'bulletproof' tranny started slipping like hell on a 1-2 shift within 300 miles from a rebuild.

Brian,I went through 6 built 4L60E transmissions,I installed every hardened, billit, reenforced part made for a 4L60E it was strong enough to hold up to a stock Radix setup, but when I upped the boost or added sticky tires it broke.Every time I broke my builder, who was warranting the transmissions added a stronger part than what broke,it never was enough.A mildly built 4L80E will live behind a killer big block for years.

Yeah....I know it will.....I just want to listen to what this guy has to say, maybe he knows/has something that we have not seen yet. I will take everything into consideration before I spend ANY money and go from there...

The 4L80-E is stronger right outta the box, but I just want to burn up all my options first.

damn. one more vote for the 4l80. this sucks i just pulled my blown FLP for my stock 60 with a transgo and servos...ill be glad if the bitch makes it into next week...i think GM did put the wrong tranny in our trucks..if and when the stando cab SS comes out it should come rqupied with a built 4l80 then it would be one hell of a contender for the L.

another vote for the 80
the 60 is just too weak for the weight and power of modded truck.
