And now ... for an on topic post:

What broke on the tranny, was it a shaft or are the clutches slipping? Supposedly, I have the best input shaft/drum setup you can get with the best reaction shell (better than the beast), it's the clutches and band I'm worried about.

Thanks XLR8NSS, I get tired of the message board BS sometimes.....

Not really sure what broke, but from the last 4 that have broken I am guessing panetarys....I will know more in the next week and I will keep you all posted on the billet stuff, I know know much about it at this point. It was something that was mentioned to me @ the track and is just talk until I see proof.

Hmm .... yea .. big thanks to the BS deletion. It gets old.

Brian .. keep us updated on what you find out. I wanna know. I may reconsider getting those 5 pinion planetaries when/if I get it torn down to check the clutches, if it makes it that far.

I dont have any gears, the trans sounds like a wet bucket of bolts

I have nuked the 5 pinions three times....but you all have to remember that was on slicks and a hard launch.

Were they GM or aftermarket planetaries? I've read that the aftermarket ones that claim to be stronger aren't.

Get a price on a Hughes transmission from Summit you can get a built 4L80E for around $2500 exchange, then get the conversion harness from Speartech.

If I cant get too the bottom of a strong 4L60-E then that is the route I will be taking......I just feel that there is more out there for the 60 and I just have to find it. I will wait to see what these folks have to say about the billet parts they are talking about and I will go from there.
