underdrive pulleys good or bad

I have had mine for years now, and love it. just dont let it idle for two long in traffic, it might start to overheat. when i was evacuating for hurricane Ike it was standstill traffic for hours, I had some issues.

I installed my powerbond ud pulley last night after work and have to say that I am pleasantly suprised at my results...feels like I gained a minor amount of power/torque everywhere. At this point I would call this a worthwhile mod. I will do a few gtech runs to see what I have gained within a week or so and also share my air intake results (MIT -vs- vararam)
I can't remember exactly where I got the write up that I printed out before the install, but it made the job sound tough. I only took about 1 to 1.5 hrs completing the task by myself with about half of the time fighting around with my 3 jaw puller (keeping all 3 arms in the correct position). I used my old crank pulley bolt (with a small dimple drilled in the center) to push against with my 3 jaw craftsman puller....when that bottomed out...I used a 3/8" socket extension. I used a long screwdriver and wedged it through a hole in the flywheel to loosen my original crank bolt. I bought the SDPC install tool to press on the pulley and installed an old style tensioner on my AC belt. The new belts went on easier than I had experienced with any other vehicle...just make sure that you draw a "map" ahead of time so that you know how to route the belts.
There seem to be no compromises with this mod at this point except a slightly lighter wallet. You wouldn't be here reading this thread if you didn't want one so go ahead and order one. I got great service from sdpc parts.

I have a PowerBond pulley and love it, the biggest gain was how much faster the engine revs, and its comforting to know everything under there is spinning a little slower perhaps prolonging their life. I did put in a 145A alternator at the same time though. Didn't notice any change to the cooling or power steering.
