Default Typical EGT's for stock and blown?

I am just curious what normal cruise EGT's are for a stock 5.3L with headers, and what to expect for temps after I install the Whipple? I notice that now, at about 65 to 75 mph, the temp is about 1200*, and under a load or heavy throttle it is about 1300*. It has been as low as 700*-1000* at lower, steady speeds as well. The probe is installed 4" from the header flange as per Autometer's instructions.

What would be considered a MAX temp with the Whipple, either under a heavy load or pulling a hill with the camper trailer?

Thanks, Bob

I don't know what the temp should be, but if you don't have aftermarket exhaust you can upgrade to larger dia. pipes. Thats a trick the diesel guys use to lower theirs.

Most gas-engine folks don't worry too much about EGT's....that's pretty much reserved for the diesel guys

FWIW - I had my Guages on for about 2 months before installing the Supercharger and saw no change in EGT before/after. I typically see between 800-1000 puttin' around town, 1200 on the highway, and up to about 1400 on Long WOT runs or while towing my boat or trailer up long grades with the rpm's up over 3000 and pushing 5-7 psi.

I saw all the same temps before the blower with the only mods then being a K&N FIPK, Cat Back, and a handheld Superchips Tuner.

Thanks Chevymann99! That's exactly what I was looking for. That seems to be about where my temps are right now, pre-supercharger. Just trying to figure out where they should be.
