Look at the BB mod in the southern section. I have it done to my truck (thats my waterpump in the how to) and it brought my temps down by about 15 - 20 degrees. it was 110 yesterday by my truck thermometer and I was runnin at about 180/ 185ish

160* stat, not worth it unless you have FI. You lose 1 mpg as well. Don't ask why, you just do. If you just have to change your t-stat, use a 180* stat. Either which one you chose, you won't gain power from it.
The biggest advantage is cooler tranny temps. Which helps prolong its life.
The power pulley's, well....if you have the money to spare, any extra hp or tq gain is always good from a mod. The pulleys might get you 3-5hp. The disadvantage is, low amperage from alternator at idle. That usually kills your battery pretty fast. If you decide to use one, buy one that is just the crank pulleyand maybe water pump pulley.
Good luck!
