Default turbo&supercharger question

Hi guys...I'm a new memeber but a long time reader. I am ready to dig into the gas truck as the diesel has just about put out as much as I need for now. I was looking at the turbo kits and the radix....question is...and I know this is a tough one.....how bad has the Radix hurt on gas mileage? Day to day and highway....I know the turbo would be better as it would also relieve the stress at cruise....any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I don't really think you will lose much with the Radix and proper tuning unless you floor it. The parasitic drag is almost nonexistant on most superchargers when just cruising around so gas milage should be fine unless you run crazy sized injectors and have bad tuning.

I have not been able to drive my turbo truck around since the install due to other factors but I should have it back next week and will start loggin gas milage and post back up.

F8L,
Thanks, I have been following your progress.....and can't wait for the results. I spoke with STS last week and like what I heard....although I am waiting on the progress of the company Parish8 got his from....can't remember the name. Dollar for dollar the price ends up close to the same between these two kits with the upgraded turbo and injectors.....I am still just real curious about the Radix with it's simplicity and all. I also have a 6.0 short block and not sure how far I want to take it.....I have been doing a lot of reading.....lol.

CMmotoring or something to that effect is where Parish got his kit from. If you want simplicity and are not planing in taking it very far go with the Radix but IMO if you wanna drop into the 12s and beyond mainly from boost then I'd go with a standard turbo kit or the STS kit. But plan on doing some work. The STS kit itself is simple to install but all the other junk you need to make real power will take some time and effort. Guages, Alky system, boost controllers, intercoolers etc etc. Liek you said, price winds up being close on all of em once it's all said and done. No cheap easy way to real HP
