Default Mods to a 2001 Sierra C3????

What works? I dont want a race truck..I have the SS. Who makes an intake thats decent? Exhaust? What stall works well with these damn things. Its an AWD model with the 6.0.

Also...what do they run stock? And what times are you getting with some of the basic mods?

LOL...now I have two money pits

I've got a 01 C3. ASM long tubes-BB exhaust-airaid intake-built tranny with shift kit, and infamous whipple. With the whipple craptronics it ran a best of 13.4.

Still working on getting the new stuff to work.

Did you happen to take it to the track with just the long tubes and bolt ons? I will most likely spray a small shot instead of S/C it.

Did your stock tranny crap out on you? Even with mild mods it seems like we are asking alot of these 4L60E's.

Pretty good ETs

Thats just about what I want out of this truck....low to mid 13s.

Some Long tubes, a catback, and a modded stock airbox with a shot would be pretty quick. You could use some of the money you saved from modding your stock airbox as opposed to buying one to buy a nice cam like a 212/218.
I think the C3's have the 4L65 which is a little more stout. A shift kit and big tranny cooler should set you up pretty well.
Goodluck

The 6.0L responds REALLY well to a cam and opening up the exhaust.

My recipe for 13s

220+ Cam
Long Tubes
Muffler and or gutted cats
Ghetto fabbed intake or Volant/FIPK/UPD if you got the money
3000-3200 stall
Tuning

Add a small shot and 12s are a go

That is pretty much all BLK6.0HD has on his truck and he traps about 100mph N/A and weighs 5400lbs in a 4WD ext. Cab

wow...thats pretty damn amazing. Sounds like a good recipe.

I was reading in here about fan mods and I was like...WTF? Ill be dammed..we have manaully driven fans?!?! Is there a decent kit for the electric fans.

ACDenali Ill check that link out...thanks a bunch man

Ive had this thing for two days now and I absolutely love it. Its a damn caddy on wheels that tows 8700 lbs and will hopefully run low 13s. What a combo!!

Most here use the LS1 fans. Nelson has a controller so that they can be hooked into the PSM and controlled from there. That way there is no VSC to go bad. I see you're in St Pete like me. These 95* days sure do kill performance. I'll be doing the LS1 fans here soon too. Maybe you can figure it all out and help me when I have to do it
I forgot that you had the 6.0, in that case I would do as F8L suggested and go with a bigger cam. Do you have any experience with the swap?? Where do you get your work done??

Recommended Shift Kit...

Good Source of information as the C3, Denali & SS have similar drivetrains...

Good Luck!

Green Tahoe...I do all my own work on the SS. If I do the cam Ill be doing it myself. Couldnt be that hard. Im definately doing the fan swap. Not only will it give a nice performance boost...should get a mpg or two increase in fuel economy.

Thanks for all the info. Look forward to modding this thing. I want 12s!
