That kit install looks really clean.

So your boosting and spraying this motor too. Im willing to bet you are going to be the first to hit 10s.

Damn I can't wait to see what that thing will do when you get it dialed in.

i dont know if i will be spraying it or not, it was easier to just hook it up than take it all out so i hooked it back up.

i have soo many questions at this point, really have no idea where i will be with the truck. i was able to eaisly get 2psi loading it in 2wd while sitting in the garge, that answered one of my bigest questions(can i get boost out of the hole). if i can get 2psi easy i bet in 4wd i can get ALOT more. if i can launch near full boost then there wont be much use for the nitrous till the turbo is maxed out, turbo will probably max out about 700rwhp and i wont be to that point for awhile.

2nd test drive, i got some msd wires on there and there is alot of room around them now, i will get a pic of it sometime. also welded on my stock exhaust and have no cut out.

i tried the boost controler at 5psi but it wants to run at 7psi, it spools prety darn fast, much faster than i thought it would and that is with really bad exhaust. it is making just a little more power than before(closed exhasut, NA 6.0), it wont rev at all, prety much dies off at 6k. i have done zero tuning yet, the a/f ratio is slightly lean, like 12.8 or so, as you can see i am geting no timing at all, the gm/sec looks prety good but the lb/min isn't soo great. no intercooler pluming yet so that should help.

it is very quiet, the exhaust is quiet, the spooling sound is quiet now too , the BOV can be heard now but it is prety quiet too. it really drives nice though, like stock.

next few steps, add some timing, turn the shift points down, like 6k, richen it up a little, turn on the PE sooner, plumb the intercooler.

Once you give it some more timing it should really wake up. Your G/cyl and lbs/min should both come up pretty good.

Is your IAT sensor working? Where is it located? The thermistor is in the MAF, unless you moved it somewhere else. Mine rises up VERY rapidly on a 1/4 mile run. Last night at about 70 ambient temp, I would start the run at 115 and end it at 145.

I think if you can get it into PE anytime it's seeing boost, then you will be OK with the timing.

are you going to change the exhaust to something new like a corsa or maby a magnaflow system. what exhaust setup would be the best for a turbo setup?

Why is your timing so LOW? Did you purposely do that to be safe until things are worked out?

It should pick up quite a bit like Flyer was saying with some more timing, boost likes as much timing as you can give it.

Can't wait to see it when you finish.

believe it or not that timing is higher than stock. i set my min timing at something like 14deg but then it pulls for the IAT and some for that knock, i floored it many times and most of the time there was no knock retard so i think that is false. the stock table actualy has some negative numbers in it and then pull more for iat's and knock, i would have been at -10 or -15 i bet.

i am a little concerend about the iat also, seems like it should go up, the sensor is still in the maf, it seems to be working but it is just slow.

going to the junk yard right now to look for a nice heat exchanger.

2 degrees is higher than stock, that doesn't sound right?

I really didn't pay much attention to the stock 5.3L radiator when I took it out but, do you think the plastic endtanks could be taken off and new metal endtanks with water inlet/outlets plumbed in could be fit in front of the A/C condenser? I remember you saying it was close, seems like it might fit with some smaller endtanks?

You should talk to bigguy about the way his radiator is mounted. That looks real slick. It would make lots of room for something bigger too.
