I don't know. My exhaust (open cutout) pretty much drowns everything out.

Turn the key forward and push the test valve on the fuel line to see if there is any pressure. Just don't get gas in your eyes.

The good news is the fuel pump was easier to replace than I expected when mine went.

well, the car still starts so there is pressure, just not enough to sustain anything I guess. Too bad I don't have a fuel pressure gauge.

Sure sounds like the fuel pump took a crap...man you've been working on this truck alot lately huh? I hate having to do "legitimate repairs" when I have mods lined up that I'd rather be doing.

Went out again just a few minutes ago, no prime on the fuel pump again. Oddly the battery gauge did look a bit low.

Does anyone know the minimum voltage the pump needs to prime? Seeing that battery gauge now is making me think that my battery took a dump possibly. When I did get it started last night the voltage was up around 14 though.

I've had Vette start at 10.5 v before. 14 is about normal charging v. Any chance of bad gas?

The battery voltage may be low from trying to start the truck and not getting it running to turn the alternator and recharge the battery.

Bad gas is another possiblility...

Check out a local parts store.... Several near me will do the loaner tool program, you pay a deposit and borrow the tool you need then get your deposit back when you bring back the tool. My local autozone has a fuel pressure gauge.

I never could hear my fuel pump in the 04, so that wouldnt work for me to try and listen for it.LOL. But my battery did kill over the other day, took the one out of my 85 and its purring like a kitten. Idle is way better than before.
