Default Transmission Temperature

I got my truck Auto Taped by RGVSierra fortunatly no knock retard. However, we did noticed that transmission temp was at 198*. I was just wondering if that was about right?

That's a little warm in my opinion. Mine usually stays inthe 160-170 range in the summer months.

A drive of about 7 miles(10 nin) and 1 hard run from a stop about 5 minutes before noticing the temp.

hmmmm...the 1 hard run might have gotten it up there if you don't have an aftermarket tranny cooler and as hot as it is here...today was the hottest day in 3 years here in DFW.

I don't have a tranny cooler yet but during a WOT run my tranny temp got up to 174 degrees. It was a little over 75 degrees when the run was made.
