Default Trans Issue

On the way to work today it slipped for a moment and then "caught" as I left from a light under light acceleration.

Is it possible to get something like this as an occasional abnormality or is always a sign of impending failure?
It only has 47K and has light use for the most part.

I know I could've posted in another section but this one has more activity.

DO NOT put any addetives in. if anything do as dlt76028 said and change fluid/filter. look in the pan for any excesive clutch material or metal. theres a magnet on the pan which helps on that. also clean the pan as much as possible while its out to save a little trash running through the filter. if you see a lot of contamination just clean change and pray...

Thanks for the replies. The pan holds about 4 qts, right? What about having it power flushed at a good place?

I'm gonna be really pissed if it's on its way out at 47K. I check the fluid often for level and color.

If it needs a new unit,I'll sell the truck after that.

It has a 125k limited power train warranty from the dealer.
