Default tranny fluid opinion for yank install

Just ordered my Yank 3000 and I am going to change my tranny fluid and put on the B&M deep tranny pan and install Yank. What fluid do ya'll use. I did a search and couldn't find much. I thought that I read that synthetic gels up and is a no no maybe? Am I completely wrong? B&M recommends synthetic. I don't know what to use. That is why I am asking ya'll. Thanks.

Most people just stick with Dextron III. Both Yank and FLP recomemded I stick with that for their built trannies. There are some cases when trying to reduce slippage that you can add some Type-F but unless your tranny builder recomends it I wouldnt.

I can't remember exaclty, but I used Penzoil brand synthetic Dextron approved. With an almost empty tranny and normal pan, I used 11 qts.

Just normal ATF Dex III is what I use in my rides. Sometimes Synthetic causes slipping on a stock trans.

I remember that Art Carr and I think Level Ten too both recommend cheapo regular fluid.

Be sure to change it about every 12-15K mi, not 50K like the service book says!

the trucks have a deep pan compared to the fbodies, at least mine did. are you sure that b&m pan is any deeper?

my truck with a new converter and empty pan and empty cooler took 14+quarts <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

My B&M holds 3 more quarts than stock. Thunderracing sells them. The B&M website also says 3 more quarts on a 4L60E.

Yep, I have one of those B&M deep pans on my F-150. It also holds another 3 quarts from the stock pan.

4x4 trucks hold an additional 1 qt...so you'd gain another 2 qts with that.

They are very nice. Cast aluminum and a drain plug, cooling fins, and solid too.
