Did you modify the stock 'stat with that bb also? It just so happens I have one lying in my garage... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

No, I did not use a BB. I used a brass screw with the same section width as the plunger opening. I just kept cutting off different thicknesses and testing them in a pot on the stove till it started opening at 160 and was fully open at 180. I only got the 160 stat to satisfy my curiosity that they worked the same and they do. I believe the stock stat keeps the truck right around 200.

Well I accidently ran over my creeper and all these little ball bearings came out of one of the wheels and they looked just like BBs and it gave me the idea to mod my stat. Just take the Tstat apart and drop a BB in the hole and put it back together.
