Default Is there any way to get more torque from my truck?

Considering my mods and wanting to stay N/A, what would ya'll recommend to get more torque?

Oh yeah, I will be sending my spare set of 4.8/5.3 heads to Absolute Speed to get their 1.5 headwork done (Port & polish, milled .030, 2.00intake/1.55exhaust valves, valve job, new springs, retainers, etc.) I figure that should bump me up at least 15lbs. tq or so.

more displacement or deeper gears. maybe advance the cam 20-4 degrees to see what that does it should pick up some low end.

Converter, TT3k would be nice. Advancing the cam like flem said will bring it down a little lower. Also like flem said, gears will get you out of the hole quicker. All combined would be a nice improvement in low end.

I like the powerband of my cam like it is, good idea though. What I was mainly refering to was my dyno #s. I keep seeing people with over 300rwtq on here that have about the same or sometimes less mods than I do. I was wondering why mine was lower? My low-end feels strong, especially after this weekend (I'll post about it in another thread).

I plan on 3.90 or 4.10 gears this summer along with a 2600 stall. I'm hoping to really tear-up some unsuspecting trucks on the street!

Could just be the dyno. Like they have said many times, all trucks are different and all dyno's are different. Plus I don't think 4 ft/lbs is really going to blast you off either. Nice numbers by the way!

Thanks. I know 4ft/lbs isn't going to help out a bunch. Before I dynoed I just expected like 305-310rwtq. Oh well!

Does anyone know how much power I would gain from the heads I mentioned?

I have heard from very good sources that the 2.00 intake valve for a 5.3 is too much and could hurt performance. You may want to go with 1.94's.

That's exactly what I was thinking. BUT, I asked Allan Futral about it and he said to go with the stock LS1 valves and not to go bigger and Allan knows his stuff about our trucks and LS1 cars. That's the reason I'm going with them. He's the most knowledglable person about these vehicles I've ever met. His cars and trucks speak for themselves.

Once again, could be the machine and not your truck! Might be putting out over 300 ft/lbs and not know it.

Thats true. Maybe the cam puts the peak torque below 3200rpms, whatcha think? Is that possible?
