Default T56 in a truck ...

Anyone done it that has some power? I'm just curious ... I was thinking about oging with the t56 instead of a 80e when/if the time comes. What ya'll think?

I'm thinking a good clutch and some 4k launches with the front pointed up might be coming at some point and time.

Well it would be pretty sweet. A member on LS1truck.com has and LS1+T56. I just don't like the ideas of long throws like the SRT10...

as if the 3600 lbs fbodies have a hard enough time keeping a clutch and the hydraulics alive, you want to try it in a pickup truck? also traction will be much worse. that is why the bolton lightnings are handing the srt10 guys their asses.

Oh I just thought about that lil 10 bolt back there in the truck. With that Radix and a 4000rpm clutch dump... you'll need at least a 9.5" to hold that abuse.

Thats why im gathering some info and looking into maybe a Colorado with a LS1 T56 swap, or built 4L60E with 4000stall. Light truck, and built on the Trail Blazer platform, which has the availible 5.3. So GM makes all the parts needed to put a LS1 into one, just gotta find out how much from the other i will need to get.

Flyer, by the time you got a clutch assembly, adapters, T56, and tuning to accomidate the stick you would have spent more than a 4L80E swap with a new stall would cost. Is it a durability issue or just the fun of yankin gears?

I genuinely thought about going with a T56 in my Tahoe, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep a clutch in it.At a 1000lb lighter in a regular you might have a fighting chance.
