Go to the new site and look at thesarge's thread on oils. Rp is crap. I use mobil 1 and don't even go 3k between oil changes half the time. **** in your engine = **** in your oil no matter what it is synthetic or not. Idk about y'all but I drive my truck hard almost daily and clean oil is a must for me. I've seen nasty engines where I work and I don't want mine that way

I agree. The extended oil change interval with synthetics is most likely based on oil break down (thermal) and not contaminates (from the motor). If your motor has alot of blow-by, condensation etc....your oil pH will show it. Regular oil changes and a good filter is your best defense.

 

you can't change it too often. put $1000's in your engine, why not $40 for oil & filter every 3000 miles. i run castrol syntec every 3000.

 

Amsoil or Mobil 1 is your best bet IMO
I personally run only Amsoil using there EA oil filters

 

I have heard many good things on Amsoil, unfortunately no where anywhere close to me can this oil be had. I have yet to see it anywhere close to where I live, and I refuse to have to special order oil....wish I could get it somewhere close, I would run it!

 

Well with amsoils "preferred customer" deal they have going, im about to start ordering for myself and 2-3 other guys i work with. if anyone has any info on how that program works, enlighten me.

 

i use amsoil in my atv,s and dirt bikes. good stuff. as far as RP goes, i have been using it in my truck for over 50k now with "spirited" driving almost daily and i have never had one single thing go wrong with my motor. knock on wood......
