Either way if you get a pre 05 or whatever, they will take what ever you can put at them for the most part. You can find a 05 up for 1200 or less if you look. I picked mine up for 1200 shipped to me with 11k on it..

Through all of my searching, I NEVER saw an 05 up LQ4 that cheap. The going rate for an 05 up is $1700 minimum nowadays. LQ9's command $2000 minimum.

The absolute best prices I found were from a guy on LS1tech: form>function. He had an 06 LQ9 with 35k for $1700 picked up. He is in detroit so it was too far for me. He also has fresh 06/07 LS2's for $2400 shipped.

The pistons are flat tops in the9 and dished in the 4's. They both use the 317 heads... Pull a head or look threw the plug hole with a mini cam.

02 is good. If you get a LQ4 just remember it won't hook up directly to a 60e.

yes it will. leave out the spacer and use the 5.3 flywheel. as long as it has aluminum heads.

99-00 6.0's have a longer crankshaft and won't work with a 4L60E

Thanks for proving my point. Don't want him to get the engine all the way in and then find out the 60e doesn't hook up without the above mods.
