Stock exhaust

What is the stock exhaust diameter on our trucks? I have a '05 SIerra 4.8 and I'm looking to switch out the muffler. Do I need the 3" in/out or 2.5" in/out? I measured by the stock muffler and it loks like 2 5/8".

its 2 3/4
with some welding you can get it to work with 3"
