Default Smoke and ticking

I just noticed when I go WOT, my truck spews a decent amount of light gray smoke. Now the only reason this bothers me is because this is the first time I've noticed it, and theres also this ticking at idle, but i'm thinking it's just piston slap. Not sure about the smoke though, is there something wrong with my truck? Also it drives just fine and doesn't feel any slower.

I sure hope not! If it was that big of a problem, wouldn't the SES light be on? I don't see how something like that could go unoticed.

Loose rocker, bent pushrod, loose spark plug, exhaust leak, bad lifter, busted valve spring all will cause a tick sound. An SES light will not activate for "Mechanical" problems.

Yeah, it does sound a little off. This is really starting to scare me. And now that I think of it, it makes me mad too because I rarely got WOT and I only have 25K miles.

Check your plugs for tightness, while you're at it check 'em too.

It doesnt pay to baby an engine. If you rarely go to WOT, it could jsut be the carbon being blown out the exhaust.

Use a mechanics stethascope to help find exactly hwere the tick is coming from.
