Question Should I go with ls6 or 6.0 heads???

What would be the pros/cons with running a set of ls6 heads on my 6.0. I am thinking that I may buy new heads if it turns out that my springs are one of the bad batches.. I am looking into the PRC brand, they offer 6.0 and ls6 heads. The 6.0 heads reads that they are for big cubic inch motors, so would the s6 heads work for me.. I realize the valves, chambers are smaller on the ls6s, so I get a bump in comp, but are they small enough to choke the motor..??

Thanks for any info

John

no the LS6s work GREAT on a NA motor or with small n2o shot, up to about 150-200shot. if i remember correctly you have a LQ4, if so you will bump up your compression to 10.5:1 great for NA power. also they are not going to choke your motor down

That is great to here, plus the 6 heads are about 500 cheaper then the 6.0s. Also yes I do have the lq4, and I do plan to spray this thing, so the heads would be a nice addition to the the engine. Plus it will probably take just as long to do heads as springs, well maybe..

243=high CR
317=low CR

I would go with the 243 if your going to spray it. Nitrous loves High CR.

Well stated. I went with ported LS6's (left the combustion chamber alone for higher comp.) for the CR on a 408. My LS6 heads are the 799 castings.
