Is it possible to unbolt the tranny mount and move it back to gain some clearance for dropping the engine in? It seems like that would make it easier?

There's plenty of room there, the only place it got tight for me was between the cowl and the radiator support. I actually ripped one of those metal clips out of the cowl, taking a chunk of plastic with it, while removing the old engine. Watch out for that stupid clip. Also getting the chain on is a pain unless you have the elaborate four point harness thing. Try to borrow one of those IMO.

I know there's plenty of room between the tranny and the core support, but between lining the motor mounts up and getting the flywheel tucked into the bellhousing?
