Number 1: Use a thread chaser, NOT a tap! It's not the same thing, and the threads can be damaged using a tap...

Number 2: Sorry, I don't know the size needed...

No no no, you use a thread chaser to clean any dirt/etc from the already drilled/tapped bolt holes when rebuilding an engine to ensure that you get an accurate torque reading when putting in new bolts/studs.

You need an 11mm tap. For the record, I have never seen an 11mm thread, so double check. If you want to be really certain of the threads, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and use their thread gages to check it.

I don't know about this "thread chaser." There are different types of taps (tapered, bottoming, etc), sure. Anyway, you should be fine using a tap, just try and thread it in with your hand. If you have to use a tap handle, use as little force as possible. You'll be able to tell when it's cutting. Make sure and lubricate it to. You can use something like Tap Magic, but for thread chasing, WD-40 or motor oil would work. Just make sure you blow the hole out with compressed air before you install the bolt.
