Default quick question about engine removal

Can you just remove the driver's side accessory bracket with the power steering pump still mounted up and just lay it to the side for engine removal/installation? Or does that pose a problem?

You can't see if in the picture to well, but the whole bracket is laying towards the fans. You can barely see the top of the altenator.

Both brackets are actually sitting in the truck still.

I notice some harness there...did you unplug the sensors and such, or remove the engine with harness on it and just disconnected it at the PCM? (if you don't mind me asking)

I also noticed you said "laying towards the fans"...did you leave the radiator and fans installed when you pulled the engine?

so both the A/C and power steering bracket's can remain in the vehicle?

and you don't have to pull the radiator?

Yes, I removed 4 bolts from the AC compressor and set it on the passenger frame rail. Removed the PS pump from the engine and tied it up out of the way close to the radiator that I left in. I also unhooked all sensor wiring at the engine and pulled the wiring harness away from the engine and tied it up to something. Longest run being the leg that runs to the starter and crank sensor.

I would pull the radiator, it's not alot of work and if the motor swings foward when you lift it that will cost a quick couple hundred needlessly.... not like it's difficult, two more bolts and it jumps out

I thought about that beforehand...I was thinking of pulling the radiator and then tossing a piece of plywood in there to protect the condenser from a direct blow.

The fun starts this weekend
